Lyle Loney, 66Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Wednesday. Dec. 13. 2000 at the Little Cedar United Methodist Church. 4255 Patent Ave. in Little Cedar for Lyle “Dean" Loney, age 66. of Little Cedar. Rev. Ted Stowers officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St.. Osage, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Liberty Township Cemetery in Little Cedar with military honors by Osage American Legion Post 278. He died Friday. Dec. 8, 2000 at his home following a lengthy illness with cancer. He was born Mar. 7, 1934 in Little Cedar, LA the son of Merrill and Ruth (Sanders) Loney. Dean received his education in the Little Cedar School graduating in 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as Airman First Class during the Korean War. Dean returned to the Little Cedar area to farm and work at the Little Cedar Creamery with his father. He then worked for Amoco in Carpenter and Osage. Dean was a life-long member of the Little Cedar United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Cedar River Saddle Club and was active in Pony Express Riders of Mitchell County. Dean and Ruth Jensen Loney were united in marriage on Mar. 19, 1982. They farmed together in the Osage and Little Cedar area retiring from farming earlier this year. His greatest love was spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his son, Daniel Dean Loney. Those that survive him include his wife, Ruth of Little Cedar; four daughters, Beth Boggs of Morton, IL and her children, Adam, Maegan and Abby; Kerry Randall and husband. Danny Randall and their children, Molly and Katey of Osage; Kelly Scheer and her children, Luke, Joshua and Tyler of Osage; Angie Atwell and her husband, Todd Atwell and their children, Taylor, Turner and Sawyer of Russell, IA: one son, Kim Schwab of Morton, IL and his children, Kasey and Arthur; one daughter-in-law Sylvia Loney Howell of Osage and her children, Nathan Loney and Justin Loney; two sisters, Vera Jean Boer]an of Osage and Sharon Cook and husband, Fred Cook of Clear Lake; many neices and nephews; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Art and Evelyn Jensen of St. Ansgar.
