Calvin I. Lee, 50WESTGATE - Calvin I. Lee, 50, Westgate, died Friday, Aug.. 18, 2000 near Strawberry Point as the result of a one vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug: 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural New Hampton with Reverend Ron Spears of Aurora presiding. Verna Orvis will be organist and accompany those in attendance as they sing, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Lift High The Cross", "Beneath The Cross Of Jesus" and "How Great Thou -Art". Military honors will be presented by -the -Messer-Fox-Americn Legion, Post 92 of Westgate. Inurnment of ashes will be at a later date' in the Assaria Lutheran Cemetery, Assaria, KS. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21 at Conway Funeral Home and an hour before service time at the church. Calvin 1. Lee was born Aug. 15, 195(1 at New Hampton, the son of Harold and Hazel Norma (Nystel) Lee. He was baptized and confirmed at immanuel Lutheran Church, Saude. He was a 1969 graduate of Crestwood High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames. He enlisted and served in the United States Air Force for ten years. Calvin was married to Eileen Kuhns in the summer of 1973 at the Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY. After their marriage, they lived in Cheyenne until moving to Assaria, KS in 1984. He was a surveyor for the Union Pacific Railroad and later sold life insurance. He moved to Westgate in 1998 where he was active in his church and was a member ofthe Westgate American LegionPost. Survivors include two sons, A.J. (Lisa), Austin, TX and David, Westgate; two sisters, Joanna VanDeBerg (David), Sumner and Diana (Jeff) Haldin, Elk Point, SD; three brothers, James (Nanci), New Hampton; Richard (Susan), Rochester, MN and Dennis (Kris), Vinton. Preceding him in death were his wife, Eileen and his parents, Harold and Hazel Lee.
