TAMA-- Arlene Marie Koehler, 79, Tama, died of cancer Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 at Sunny Hill Care Center, Tama.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery, New Hampton with Rev. David Fye officiating.

Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.

Arlene was born on June 30, 1921 in Center Township in Fayette County, the daughter of Theo T. and Marie S. Bahlman Slack. On Feb. 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Waldon Koehler at St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Hampton. Before retiring and moving to Tama, Arlene was employed for almost 30 years as the head of food services for the Fredericksburg Community School District.

Survivors include her son Richard (Vicki), Tama, a daughter Connie (John) Melu-gin, Waterloo, three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Waldon, on July 18, 1994 and two brothers, Theodore and Everett Slack.

A memorial fund has been established.
