Marie Elenz, 89

EVANSDALE — Marie Elenz, 89, formerly of Evansdale, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000 at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale.

Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Washington.

Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service, Waterloo, with a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of America Rosary and a 7 p.m. Vigil Service and at the church an hour prior to services on Thursday.

Marie was born July 15, 1911, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Haus) Papenheim. She married Lawrence Elenz on Sept. 3,1929.

Surviving are four sons, Leo, New Hampton, Mike, Reno, NV,, John, Waterloo, Larry, Anamosa; seven daughters, Theresa Stremcha, Las Vegas, NV, Rita Cummings, Evansdale_<v Rosie Meirick, Jesup, Katie Schmit, Nevy Hampton, Maggie Faber, Algona, Tillie

Havlik, Elma, Alice Kintzle, Waterloo; 42 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Papenheim, Waterloo.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Lawrence on Nov. 2, 1971; two daughters, Mary Ann Webb and Barbara Borman-Mitchell; a grandson; a great-grandson.
