Lillian Dolphin, 85BRITT - Lillian (Rokos) Dolphin, 85, died Feb. 1 at the nursng home in Britt from complications of pancreatic cancer. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 4 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Britt, with Rev. Marvin Bries presiding. Sister Jan Hrubes was lector and Eucharistic Minister. Drganist Brenda Smith accompanied the soloist, Louise Zrostlik in the hymn selections. Ushers were Dennis Brumm and Allan Doughan. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, with Donald Hrubes, Wayne Kudej, Dale Dolphin, Dean Dolphin, Roger Bird and Micah Heimdal as casket bearers. Lillian Rokos, daughter of James and Mary (Formanek) Rokos was born Aug. 18, 1914 in Garfield Township near Duncan. She graduated from Hayfield Schools in 1933. On June 4, 1935 she was united in marriage with John Dolphin at St.Wenceslaus Church, Duncan. They were engaged in farming near Britt until 1952. They moved to Britt where Lillian worked as a Dietary Supervisor at the Hancock County Hospital for 27 years. She was a member of the Jolly Circle Club, a charter ipember of TOPS and served as a volunteer at the West View Care Center. She enjoyed being with her family and traveling. Surviving are a daughter, Marlene (Alvin) Holtorf; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Frank) Hrubes and Gladys (Robert) Kudej; relatives in the Spillville, Protivin and Fort Atkinson area. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, John in 1988; also Formanek, Zeman, Falada, Schmitt relatives. Ewing Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
