Loren Conley, 69, LancasterLoren H. Conley, age 69, of Lancaster, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000 at the Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 3, 2000 at 10:30 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Msgr. Tom Baxter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, where a 7:00 p.m. parish Scripture wake service will be held. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Loren H. Conley memorial fund has been established. He was born February 21, 1931 in Woodman Township of Grant Co., the son of Hugh and Velva (Carmody) Conley. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict, stationed in California from 1951-1953, receiving an honorable discharge. He married Jeraldine M. Klein on September 12, 1962 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tennyson. Together they farmed in the Fennimore, Lancaster and Potosi areas until his retirement in 1997. Farming was Loren's entire life. Surviving are his wife, Jeraldine; children: Sandra Conley of Baraboo, Wis., Robert Conley of Galena, 111., Shari (Jeff) Klaes of Riceville, Iowa, and Kevin Conley of Lancaster; and grandchildren Brandon, Sarah and Julia Klaes; also one brother, Leonard (Judy) Conley of Mt. Hope, Wis.; three sisters: Camilla Conley of Madison, Wis., Sybilla "Beth" Conley of Sauk City, Wis. and Irene Conley of Chicago, IL. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Harold.
