Debra C. Canfield, 43WAVERLY - Debra C. Canfield, 43, Waverly, died at her home on Thursday, April 13. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17 at the Heritage United Methodist Church, Waverly, with Pastor Nathan N. Frazee officiating. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 15 and from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, April 16 at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Debra was born March 28, 1957, the daughter of Neil and Lorraine (Schmitt) Baumler, Waucoma. She attended and graduated from Turkey Valley High School, Jackson Junction in 1975. Deb received her degree as a Medical Lab technician from Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo in 1977. She took a Eosition in the lab at Mercy lospital in Oelwein, and on July 1, 1978, she was united in marriage with Dennis Canfield in Oelwein. In 1984 they moved to Cedar Rapids, moving in 1986 to Altoona and to Runnels in 1992. In October 1999, they moved to Waverly and Deb worked for Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo for a short time before going to work in the lab at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, where she was currently employed. Deb was a member of the Newcomers Club, Waverly, had served as a 4-H leader while living in Runnels and was a member of the Lake Country Cycle Club, Ankeny. She enjoyed collecting candles and baskets, reading, bicycling, having been a 12-year veteran of RAGBRAI. Surviving are her husband, Dennis, Waverly; three children, Darcy, Jon and Ryan, all of Waverly; her mother, Lorraine Baumler, Waucoma; four brothers, Conrad (Jeannette) Baumler, Cedar Rapids, Keith (Lisa) Baumler, Hawkeye, Brian Baumler, Houston, TX,; Brad (Mary Lynn) Baumler, Urban-dale; three sisters, Annette (Don) Hyman, Fort Dodge, Bonnie (David) Rowland, Apple Valley, MN, Joyce (Dale) Dose, Amherst, WI. Preceding her in death was her father, Neil m May 1975. Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross.
