Services were held at the Mclntire United Methodist Church Wedneday, Nov. 22 for Ruth E. Butterfield who died on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-Hospital in Osage, Iowa.

The Rev. Michael Carey conducted the 1:30 p.m. service. Interment was in Wayne Cemetery, rural Mclntire.

She was born June 22,1907, daughter of Thadius and Barbara Frank Eastman in Mclntire, Iowa. She was united in marriage to George Butterfield in McGregor, Iowa in 1924.

She assisted her husband in farming and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Reese and his wife Dorothy of Mclntire, four daughters: Mrs. A1 (Florence) Holman of Mclntire, Iowa; Mrs. Ray (Darlene) Brainerd of Marion, Iowa; Mrs.Edwin (Beada) Atherton of Rochester, Minn.; and Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Morse of LeRoy, Minn, 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and one brother Charles Eastman of Mclntire, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; a son, Paul in 1947; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville was in charge of the arrangements.
