Services held for Allene F. BendicksonServices were held Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at LeRoy Lutheran Church for Allene F. Bendickson, 83, Spring Valley and formerly of the LeRoy area, who died Saturday evening enroute to the hospital. The Rev. Thomas Kolden officiated at the 10 .a.m. .services. Interment was in the church cemetery at LeRoy. She was born May 9, 1916 in rural Fillmore County, daughter of John William and Jenny Mathison Terbeest. She attended rural schools in the Cherry Grove area and in 1935 was united in marriage to Burton Austin. To this union two children were born, James Burton and Meredith Burdine. Mr. Austin died in 1952, and she was later united in marriage to Axel H. "Doc" Bendickson in 1955. She worked as a veterinary assistant for many years and also sold real estate in the LeRoy area. She was a member of LeRoy Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. Survivors include her husband, Axel H. "Doc" Bendickson, Spring Valley; a son, James (Ada) Austin, Harmony; a daughter, Meredith "Tootie" Foster, Spring Valley; four grandsons, Scott, Mike, Art and Jimmy; two granddaughters, Tori and Konya; nine great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. \ She was preceded in death by her first husband,,three brothers, thee sisters and a grandson, Charlie Foster. Hindt-Hutchins FuneraL Home, Spring Valley and LeRoy were in charge of arrangements.
