Services held for Clarence ArendtFuneral services for Clarence Arendt of Lake City, MN were held at 1:00 p.m, Saturday, November 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake City. Rev. James Russell officiated. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellechester, MN. Schleicher Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Clarence, 93, died Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at the Lake City Hospital-Mayo Health System in Lake City. Clarence Hubert Arendt was born November 13, 1907 in Chester Township, Wabasha County, MN, the son of Nicholas and Bertha (Reiland) Arendt. He attended rural school in Chester Township, Wabasha County. On October 14, 1936 he married Cecilia M. Reiland at St. Peter & Paul Catholic church in Mazeppa, MN. The couple resided on the original Arendt farm where Clarehce was bom and raised in Chester Township. They lived on that hum until 1972 when they moved to Lake City. Clarence was a long time member of the Bellechester Knights of Columbus, Farm Bureau, Wabasha County ARC. He was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bellechester and currently a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church of Lake City. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Survivors include three daughters; Patricia Heilman of Austin, TX, Nancy Camago of Romeo, MI, and Mary Kalu of Ann Arbor, Mi; eight sons: David of Middleton, WI, Donald of Decorah, Robert of Win-lock, WA, William of Wabasha, MN, Timothy of Lake City, MN, Mark of Mazeppa, MN, Anthony also of Mazeppa, MN and Gary of Lake City, MN; 34 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother: Leonard of Bellechester, MN. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife; two grandchildren; his parents; five brothers: Lawrence, Phillip, Ed, Walter, and Clement; and three sisters: Martha, Christine, andHedwig.
