The River

The steamer “Parke Bluff” was badly smashed on Friday while assisting the Natrona with a raft through the Keokuk bridge. The cross current dashed her against the draw pier and then she was sent against the opposite pier. She was badly “Skewed” from bow to shore, and her boilers and engines were moved nine inches out of position, and her wheel demolished. She was a brand new boat, the Natrona towed her to shore.
