The Physicians of Point Pleasant (Iowa) |
Dr. Johnson came to this place in 1868 and died in 1877. Dr. Atwater located there in 1873 and later moved to Kansas, where he died. He practiced at Point Pleasant about ten years. Dr. Thomas Cosgrove came in the seventies and had a large practice in that portion of the county. He removed to Hubbard in 1880. |

The first physician at Union to practice his profession was Dr. E.D. Whitacre, who moved there about 1870. He was a good doctor and had a large practice. He later removed to Marshalltown, where he died. Other early physicians there may be recalled as: Dr. Tainter, in 1879-71; Dr. R.F. Sheffield, 1875; Dr. I.H. McDill, 1876; Dr. A.H. Pillsbury, in 1880; Dr. A.H. Pierson, 1886; Dr. Albert Pierson, 1890; Dr. Ed. Kauffman, 1900, and still there in practice of his profession. Dr. Hunt came in 1896. Toay the physicians there are: Dr. Ed. Kauffman, Dr. Bothwell, who came in 1910, and Dr. Hunt. |

When the town of Hubbard was started in 1880, Dr. Philip Slack came there and practiced mediine until 1891. Dr. Kalmartin came to the town in 1880 and remained only one year. Dr. A.J. Hunter came in 1882, remaining until 1891. Dr. Thomas Cosgrove located there in 1888 and still practices there. Dr. T.J. Livingood settled in Hubbard in 1891 and is still in the medical practice there, doing well. Dr. Lawrence came in 1892, remaining two years. Dr. J.T.R. Brubaker came in 1894 and still practices in the town. Dr. C.U. McIntosh came in 1890. Dr. F.L. Rabe came to Hubbard in 1898 and in 1910 removed to Ackley Dr. Joseph Emey Reed also settled in the practice there in 1910 |

At the town of Whitten the following physicians have practiced medicine: Dr. W.N. Porter, who came in 1881; Dr. W.S. Brown, in 1882; Dr. N.E. Springhall, 1883; Dr. O.I. Furst, 1886; Dr. Salmon Burdette Sayer, 1891; Dr. Chaarles Austin Willett, 1902; Dr. H.C. Willett, 1894; Dr. Butler came in 1893, and has a large practice, he now being the only doctor in the town. Dr. C.W. Vroom located here in 1908, had a good pratice, but was taken ill and died in January, 1911. |

The Physicians of Buckeye (Iowa) |
In the new town of Buckeye, in Buckeye Township, the only resident physician is Dr. C.S. Trimble, who is having a successful practice. |
The Physicians of Garden City (Iowa) |
At Garden City, the new town on the Short Line railway in Concord township, the only doctor ever locating there was Dr. Claude I. Dickey, who removed after a few years. The town had no physician in January, 1911. |
