Strong, Floyd J., World War II, Guthrie County, Iowa

Floyd James Strong, son of the late Elvie and Daisy Strong, was drowned June 7, 1944 in New Orleans, La. He was inducted into the Navy November 11, 1943.

He took his basic training in Farragut, Idaho then went to Norfolk, Va. He was on an LST based at New Orleans at the time of his death.
