Lt. Robert P Cooper, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cooper,copilot, was shot down while on a bombing mission to Emden, Germany, May 15, 1943. The plane was lost over the North Sea.
Bob served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier, USS Saratoga in peace time. He left his job in Seattle shortly after Pearl Harbor to enlist in the Air Forces early in 1942. He received his pilots wings at Douglas Field, Arizona.
