Captain of the footbal team a the University of Iowa. He attended Iowa during the years immediately prior to the outbreak of World War I. He was a football tailback and was famed for his long punts. He was named 1916 team captain. After graduating, he enlisted in the army and achieved first lieutenant status. He later served as county treasurer in Chickasaw County (Iowa). He died unexpectedly of a heart attack. Born 8/12/1894 and died on 1/24/1948 at the age of 53. |
