Coach Dorman's U.I.U. Eleven Will Play at Galesburg, Ill., In First Gridiron Contest of Season.

Galesburg, Ill., will be the scene of the first game of the U.I.U. Peacocks, under Coach John Dorman's tutelage, on Sept. 28, when they will rub elbows with the Lombard college eleven. Thirty men reported for the opening practice. Seven of these are letter men, and of these but four are candidates for line positions, so it can be seen that linemen are going to be in strong demand.

Lammers of Elma, Johnson of Houston, Minn., Bates of Arlington, and Moore of Clinton, Ind., are veterans of the line. Others who show promise are Peick and Appleton of Edgewood, Lynch, Fox and Chittenden of Fayette, Prescott of Plymouth, Shillinglaw of Blairsburg, Horning of McGregor, and Davis of Randalia.

The situation is not so bad when it comes to backfield men. Letter men who would be ball-totters are Capt. Summers of Ft. atkinson, Kiple of Elgin and cushion of Arlington, Sindelar, Ft. Atkinson, Gleason of Blairsburg, Earle and Pinch of Fayette are others trying for backfield positions.

SOME PAVING BEING DONE

Some paving is being done at the north end of Main street this week to fill out spaces between the end of the street paving and the bridge. When primary No. 11 was paved the regulation 18 feet wide there was still a strip of triangular shape between it and the sidewalk. This is now being filled in and a strip on the other side of the street is being paved to match it. The property owners are Central States Power Co. on the east side of the street and A. J. Fox and W. A. Stranahan on the west side.
