BRAINARD ITEMS
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peters were surprised Sunday
when a number of their relatives and friends filled baskets to help
Mrs. Peters celebrate her birthday. Those present were Messrs. and
Mesdames Melvin Boyer and family, Frank Lyons and Doris and Willis,
George Howard and family, George Boyle and family, Clarence Tripp
and Cecil, Chas. Peters and family, Arthur Patterson, Sidney
Patterson and Wilson, Louis Becker and family, George Tripp, Dave
Rowland and Phyllis, and Mrs. Etta Mays and Raymond, Blaine Danks,
Mr. Berger and Frank Davis of McGregor. Many beautiful gifts and a
collection of money were left in memory of the day.

BOYER GANG STARTS OUT
Bud Boyer and his crew of seven men started
out Monday for the southwest part of the county where they have
three miles To township road to put to grade. Their first project is
Oran township and they will be five miles west of Oelwein.
“Bud’s” gang are all from this section and
they are as follows: Hand and Harry Frederick, Delbert Lyons,
Chas. Peters, Wesley Barker, Donald Bdleyn [sic as appeared] and
Cliff Wilson.
