ELGIN C.T.A. REORGANIZED
The annual meeting of the Elgin C.T.A. held
last Wednesday evening at Elgin with 20 present, marked another year
of progress, tester Richard Williams stating that the production was
going to be the highest of any year since the association has been
going.
The association decided for the coming year
to go on a flat rate basis of $40.00 per year for every sized herd.
It was thought that this would help in getting all cows tested and
would save the secretary much work in keeping the books for the
association. This is the only association in Fayette county on a
flat rate basis.
Elmer Larson was reelected president as was
W.L. Peters vice-president and Ern Holzere, secretary-treasurer.
Directors elected were Rob Frey, B. H. Brackin, and Karl Miller.
Twenty-two members were certain for
next year and a committee consisting of Ern Holzer, B. H. Brackin,
and Geo. Metzger were appointed to see the list of prospects to
secure the other four members.
The meeting was held at the Elgin Ballery [?]
and following the meeting a lunch consisting of hot pork sandwiches,
coffee, cake and ice cream was served.
B.J. Baumgartner of the Citizens State Bank,
who has worked with the C.T.A. at Elgin since its beginning also
helped make this meeting the success it was.
