Last Will & Testament of Silas Soule Taylor

"Proof of the due execution of said will having been made on oath
of deed, C. C. Parker, and proof of the publication of notice agreeably
with the order of court having been made on the oath of C. H. Talmage and
no person appearing to defend. Probate of said will is hereby continued,
Sanctioned and allowed by the court."

Copy of last Will and Testament of Silas Soule
Taylor:
"In the name of God amen, I Silas Soule Taylor, of the town of Westfield,
County of Fayette and State of Iowa, of the age of Forty Seven years and
being of sound mind do make publish and declare this my last Will and
Testament, in manners following, that is to say, First, I give and bequeath
to my Wife Esther A. Taylor, the South East quarter of the North West
quarter of Section No. Eight (8) in Township No. Ninety Three (93), North
Range No. Eight West in Fayette County, Iowa, also the West half of the
South West quarter of the South West quarter of the North West quarter of
Section No. Fifteen (15) in Township Ninety Three (93) North Range (8) Eight
West in Fayette Co. Iowa. Also the following personal property, one span of
stock horses and harness, one two seated spring buggy and two cows and
thirty sheep. Second. I devise to my son Frank S. Taylor and his heirs and
assigns, the South West quarter of the North East quarter of Section No.
Eight (8) in Township No., ninety three (93)
North Range No. Eight (8) West in Fayette County and State of Iowa. Third.
I bequeath to my son Charles L. Taylor Six Hundred Dollars. Fourth. I
bequeath to my son Edwin J. Taylor, Six Hundred dollars. Fifth. I give to
my son William Henry Taylor, Fifty Dollars. Sixth. I give to my daughter
Mary Emerette Taylor, Fifty Dollars. Seventh. I give to Joseph Taylor as a
token of friendship, Ten Dollars. The balance of my Real and Personal
Property, after all debts are settled, I give and bequeath to my Wife
Esther A. Taylor. I hereby appoint Job Ashby, sole executor of this my
last Will. In Witness where of I have hereunto set my hand this Twenty-
Third day of January, A. D., One Thousand and Eight Hundred and Sixty-
Eight. s/ Silas Soule Taylor"
The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof
signed and declared by the said Silas Soule Taylor as his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence
have subscribed our nanes as witnesses thereto.
