I thought some of you might want to know the names of some of the
families living at Round Knoll. I've never been able to find out if
Round Knoll was a town or just an area. I know there was a school there
known as School #5 - Round Knoll; which, at one time, my grandmother,
ELSIE (PRICE) MCMURTREY taught at. There was also a United Brethren
Church; probably held in the Round Knoll School that my MCMURTREYS
attended before it disbanded. My g grandparents, ISAAC E. and LOVINA J.
(NOAH) MCMURTREY owned land and farmed right close to the Round Knoll
School. It was west and north from Van Wert. By Nancee (McMurtrey) Seifert June 22, 2002 Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa Thursday, April 21, 1904 Norah DOBSON began a spring term of school at Round Knoll Monday. Copied by Nancee (McMurtrey) Seifert April 29, 2003 |
