GEORGE WASHINGTON HARRISON
George
Washington Harrison was born on March 30, 1838 in
Pennsylvania. George was living with his parents in 1850 and 1860. He was
also enumerated with his brother, John Harrison in the 1860 census. On
December 26, 1867, he married Minerva Ann Goble. Minerva was born on
February 24, 1849 in Pennsylvania; she was the daughter of Uriah Goble and
Dorothy Hadsall[1]. George and Minerva had four children: |

Sometime
before Charles was born, the family moved to Iowa. Perhaps they moved
with or moved to join, his older sister and her husband, Elizabeth and
Peter Fish. George was a farmer. They were living in Colfax Township,
Dallas County, IA in 1870 and Adams Township in 1880. The entire family
was enumerated during the 1885 Iowa Census in Adams Townsip. Minerva
died on August 12, 1885 and buried in the Ellis Cemetery, Dallas County,
IA. George was living in Adams Township, Dallas County, IA along with
his daughter, Ada, in 1900. George died January 12, 1902 and buried
beside his wife in the Ellis Cemetery. [1] Uriah Goble was born circa 1822 in Pennsylvania. Dorothy was born circa 1825 in Pennsylvania. The family was living in Monroe Township, Wyoming County, PA in 1850. Uriah was a farmer. Contributed by: Bert Stevenson |
