Funeral
services were held at
DeSoto
,
Iowa
on Tuesday of this week for Earl C.Scarborough, Mr. Scarborough died at
the
Northwestern
Hospital
last Friday, March 3rd, after a brief illness.
Earl
C. Scarborough or "Bob", as he was known to his many
Dawson
friends, was born at
DeSoto
,
Iowa
, and was 55 years of age at the time of his death. He was engaged in
the insurance business, and about a year ago, next June was one of
the organizers of the Tenants Mutual Insurance Company, with
headquarters in
Dawson
. Mr. Scarborough was secretary-treasurer of the company.
Surviving
are his wife Blanche; a daughter, Mrs. F.L. Loomis of
Willmar
; a son, Morris of Park Rapids,
Minnesota
, two grandchildren; two brothers , M.W. and W. W. Scarborough of
Minneaplois, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Wishmier of
Van Meter
,
Iowa
; Mrs. James Thornton, and Mrs. Jesse Boner of
Adel
,
Iowa

Last
Rites for Earl Scarborough
The
funeral of Earl Scarborough of
Minneapolis
,
Minn.
, was held on Tuesday afternoon at the DeSoto M.E. Church in charge of the
Rev. H.M. Sippel, pastor of the
Church
of
Christ in Adel. Rev. Sipppel red scripture from the 26th and 23rd Psalms
and from the Book of John.
A
quartette, Mr. and (Mrs. M.W. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. L.O. Benfield sang
Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and the Old Rugged Cross with Mrs. Ralph
Shetterly accompanist .
Internment
was in the
Oakland
cemetery south of DeSoto. A large number of relatives and friends
attended the services. Mr. Scarborough being a former DeSoto resident.

the undertaker.
