Elkader
The Elkader Public Schools opened last Monday,
September 4th, with an attendance that surpasses that of
any previus year, 335 names being enrolled, 162 High
School and 173 grade students. It has been our good
fortune to secure an exceptionally competent faculty for
the coming term. Ten of the members have taught the
previous year and four are new teachers. Miss Eva Crowe
is temporarily teaching the seventh and eighth grades.
She is filling the place of Mr. Maust, the instructor who
accepted this position and who, after coming here Friday,
left again Saturday, for some unaccountable reason. Below
is a complete list of the members of the high school
faculty and of the grade teachers:
- High School Teachers -
Prof. J. P. Street, of Elkader, Iowa.
Miss Alice McCredi_, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Miss Elsie Williams, of Earlham, Iowa.
Miss Beatrice Bozarth, of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
