The boys school was relocated to Eldora in 1872 and became known as the Industrial School for boys. The girls school is located at Mitchellville, near Des Moines.

• On Monday, the court of Justice Skinner was occupied with the case of the State vs S. Chase, charged with attempting to commit rape on his 11 year old step-daughter. The case was brought before P. C. Young, Esq., and taken before Skinner on a charge [sic] of venue. • Thomas Moreland, 17, Guttenberg, who confessed to the Millville creamery robbery a little more than a week ago, was taken before Judge Eichendorf here Monday, where he pled guilty. • Emory Ginnett, 18, who was a parolee of the boys' training school at Eldora, has been returned there to complete his term. • Kenneth Moore, 16, former Monona high school student, charged with stealing money from that high school on two occasions, was sentenced to the boy's training school at Eldora until he reaches the age of 21. A petition from the Monona board of education for leniency was taken into consideration by Judge H. E. Taylor and the youth has been paroled to Sheriff E. W.
