In the case of State vs. G. W. Tweedie, the defendant plead guilty to the offense charged and was sentenced to county jail for four months to pay a fine of $50 and the costs of prosecution. Bail was set at $700.

Among the indictments brought by the Grand Jury at its recent session was one against Fred Rueben, who lived near Motor. He was indicted on the charge of raping his own daughter. His wife died last spring, leaving a family of ten children. The county authorities have taken charge of the children.

Judge Fellows was called here last Friday and sentenced John Marmann to three years in the inebriate hospital at Knoxville.

Saturday evening a man named Ed McGraw, entered the Merchants Hotel about midnight and appropriated two overcoats belonging to Messrs. Lodahl and Hover. Sheriff Dittmer was notified Sunday and he employed in finding the man. He was fortunate in finding him and recovering the coats. Monday McGraw was brought before Justice Fitzpatrick and was given thirty days in jail. It is a pretty good man that gets away from Sheriff Dittmer.
