Homer Latham was arrested last week for selling liquor contrary to the statutes made and provided, and was fined $20 and costs.

State vs. Samuel Hardin, indictment for nuisance, a plea of not guilty entered; sentenced to pay a fine of $40. and costs and stand committed for 20 days.

State vs. Richard Downey, pleads guilty and fined, fifty cents and costs.

State vs. Lyman Wareham, pleads guilty and fined $1. and costs.

State vs. Amanda Carney, appeal, defendant pleads guilty and was fined $5. and costs.

Town of Guttenberg vs. J. Baurick selling beer without a license, fined $10. and costs and to stand committed until sch fine is paid.

State vs Michael Finnegan; carrying concealed weapons. Found guilty by jury and fined $40. and costs, and to stand committed until the fine is paid.

State vs M. Penneton; manslaughter, trial by jury and a verdict of guilty returned. Judgement will be rendered on the last day of the term.

State vs Jos. Lennox; robbery. Defendant sentenced to four months in the penitentiary at Anamosa. This case was for stealing a watch during the Strawberry Point fair.

Nels. Nelson of Highland took too much bug juice, was arrested and taken before 'Squire Smith and took a change of venue to Justice Hawthorne, where he plead guilty, and was fined $10 and costs.

The case of Cornelius Mahan, who was convicted of killing a man named Murphy, at Elkport, in 1881, and for which he was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary, and which was appealed to the Supreme Court, has been decided against him, and he will be obliged to serve out his time.

The case of Silas Moody, for the burglary of the store of John Becker, of Millville, was found guilty and sentenced to ten years in the penitentiary at Anamosa - the extreme penalty of the law. This will be the third time Mr. Moody has been confined within the walls of the state reformatory institution at Anamosa; he previously served time for highway robbery and again for burglary.

Thomas Burt, was arrested here, Monday, charged with lewdness and was given a fine by Justice Skinner. This is an unhappy climate for fellows of his class.
