Louis Schiff, farmer, was born in Baden, Germany, June 27, 1826. In 1854 he came to the United States, and for the first six years worked as a laborer. In 1860 he purchased his first forty acres of land; in 1861 he married Mary Meyer, who was born in Baden, Germany. By this union there are nine children, viz.: Christiana, Mary, Lizzie, Willie, Edward, Martha, Clara, Tilla, and Ellen. Mr. Schiff has 158 acres of land, 20 acres of timber, valued at $40 per acre.
