Peter Holgerson, farmer, was
born Dec. 17, 1838, in Southern Norway, son ofHolger
Peterson. His father died when he was six months old. In
1850 he emigrated with his mother to the United States,
and lived a year in Wisconsin. In the fall of 1851 they
removed to Clayton County. The following spring his
mother bought 120 acres of land in Wagner Township, on
sections 22, 26, and 27. Here he has lived ever since. He
has purchased additional land, and now owns 240 acres,
well improved and with good buildings. His mother died in
1881, at the age of seventy-nine years. Mr. Holgerson was
married in May, 1864, to Jane Oleson, born in Norway.
They have had six children, five living - Helena M.,
Ragnil O., Cornilia C., Hans, and Anna M. Both are
members of the Norwegian Lutheran church. In politics he
