Schug family

John 'Peter' Schug was born 12/26/1840 at Trimsback, Rhenish, Prussia, Germany. He was married to Elizabeth Gerrmann on 12/16/1861. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1864. Abt 1866 they settled near Strawberry Point. He died March 20, 1918. (Obituary)

His wife Elizabeth 'Eliza / Lizzie' Gerrmann was born 12/16/1861 and died 4/1/1925. They are buried in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

The photos below are of their home near Strawberry Point. More than likely, the people in the pictures are Peter, Elizabeth and their children, but positive identifications haven't been made.

Charles Schug was born 11/5/1867, the son of John Peter & Elizabeth 'Eliza/Lizzie' (Gerrmann) Schug. He married Emma Marquardt on Feb. 10, 1891. Charles died 4/27/1943, buried Strawberry Point cemetery. (Obituary)

Carl Peter Schug, son of Charles & Emma (Marquardt) Schug, was born 5/27/1895. He married Theresa Agnes Asmus. She was the daughter of Gusta & Anna (Flasher) Asmus, and born 11/9/1897. Theresa died 12/23/1976 and Carl P. died 3/19/1990. Their children were Herman (Obituary), Luetta and Donald.

Luetta (Schug) Puffett, daughter of Carl P. & Theresa, was born 6/18/1918. She was married to John E Puffett on 11/9/1937. Luetta died 8/2/2012 and is buried in Oakland cemetery, Manchester, IA

Donald Henry 'Don' Schug, the son of Carl P. & Theresa, was born 2/25/1923 on the family homestead south of Strawberry Point. He married Irene Skibbe on 6/8/1944. They had three children. Don died 1/13/2016 and is buried in the Strawberry Point cemetery. (Obituary)

Irene predeceased Don.
