Mr. & Mrs. Robert Jamison, first
permanent settlers in Clarke County, taken during the latter years of their
lives.
Ancestral residence of Ashton and Sumner
Jamison in Franklin township. It was built by their grandfather, Robert
Jamison, in 1855. Just at the rear is the site of the Jamison cabin erected
in the summer of 1850 and in which they lived til the new one was built.
