Clarke County Population History
As you can see, Clarke County got off to a bang by 1860 when it was ranked 43rd in the state and continued to grow through 1900 hitting a top of 12440.. But then, the population started to decline through 1970 when the population hit bottom at 7581.. However, there has been a small uptick since then, growing to 9133 in 2000. In 1860, Since then, it has bottomed out at 98th early in the 20th century, climbing back to 84th by the start of the 21st century.
