| 08 Jan 2001 | The process of transcribing is progressing at an agonizingly slow pace. A new policy that I just adopted is to phase out the use of "MAILTO:" links. This is because SPAMmers have 'spider' software which gleans attractive gems like that from web pages, and the spammers sell them for money, and make everyone's life worse. Presently there are about 3 county-years that are being actively transcribed. So, if you stumbled in here and just read this, you might consider volunteering to do at least a township of one of Iowa's 99 counties for 1856, 1885 or maybe even 1925.
