Diane Lynn Gruber

July 17, 1950 - February 6, 2025

Diane Lynn Gruber, born on July 17, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her residence in Sioux City on February 6, 2025, at the age of 74 from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and CorticoBasal Degeneration. Diane was the cherished daughter of Earle and Opal (Jensen) Frazier, and a lifelong resident of the community she loved dearly.

A passionate educator, Diane dedicated a significant part of her life to teaching mathematics. From 1972 to 1985, she imparted her knowledge to students at South Sioux City Junior and Senior High, and later, from 1989 to 1998, she continued teaching at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City. Her commitment to education and her students left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of learning from her.

Diane's academic journey began at East High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1968. She further pursued her education at the University of South Dakota before graduating from Briar Cliff College in 1972. On June 30, 1973, she united in marriage to Frank Gruber at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

Diane was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, where she connected with her faith and community. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as camping and traveling across the United States. An enthusiast of culinary arts, Diane had a deep appreciation for recipes, though she often found herself unable to try many.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Gruber of Sioux City. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Earle and Opal Frazier, who passed away in 2000 and 2009, respectively.

Diane donated her brain to the Mayo Clinic to study. Honoring Diane's wishes, cremation will take place, and no services are planned. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
