12 September 2024Roland Kohlhof, age 76, of Carter Lake, Iowa (formerly of Climbing Hill, Iowa) passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the CHI Health Mercy Hospital of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Committal will be in the Westfork Township Cemetery of Climbing Hill, Iowa.
The Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Anthon, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at www.armstrongfuneral.com.
Roland Victor Kolhof, son of Arthur W. and Doris E. (Tennis) Kohlhof, was born on September 18, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa. He lived in various homes for the handicapped while growing up and during his adult life. He recently resided with a caretaker in Carter Lake, Iowa.
Roland enjoyed shopping for gadgets and Iowa Hawkeye clothing. He was a very proud participant in the Special Olympics earning medals in several events over the years.
Left to cherish his memory include his brother Nick (Norma) Kohlhof of Climbing Hill, IA; sister Lea Yepsen of Ankeny, IA; caregiver Angela Marion and her family of Carter Lake, IA; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Doris Kohlhof; and brother-in-law Jack Yepsen.
