Stabbed in the Back
Sioux City, July 20 – Clyde Spohr, lodger at the Dayton Hotel, was stabbed in the back last night by M. T. Lahey, a 42 year old, a switchman, at the Lahey home, 615 Lafayette Street. The wound, presumably made with a knife, was not serious. It was dressed at police headquarters.
Spohr and Lahey are friends. Spohr has often called at the Lahey home, and was on a visit last night. Lahey denied his guilt when arrested, although after he had been taken to police headquarters he said that Spohr was a heavier man and he “had to do something.”
Lahey is being held for investigation.
