Veteran Marries Widow.
The following item, taken from the telegraphic columns of the daily paper, will be interesting to our readers in the north part of the county:
Although both are crowding the septuagenarian mark closely, Charles H. Barlow, aged 69, and Mrs. Martha j. King, aged 68, do not think they are too old to take upon themselves the responsibilities of married life. They met as members of the soldiers’ home and were married October 8th. Barlow is a resident of Prairieburg, Linn county, and served in Company K, Ninth Iowa Infantry. Mrs. King came from Burr Oak, Winneshiek county, and was the widow of W. H King, Company F, Twenty-seventh Iowa infantry. Both Barlow and his wife have each been married before.
