Robert Dean Adams, 90, of Rockwell City, formerly of Forest City, died Monday, September 2, 2019, at Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Robert Dean Adams was born on March 21, 1929, in Mt. Valley Township, Forest City, to Sidney E. and Alice (Larson) Adams. On June 4, 1949, he married Frances Pauline Kiefer at the Forest City United Methodist Church parsonage. They resided in Forest City, raising their four children: Pam, John, Robin, and Peggy as well as two grandchildren, Mark and Amanda. Robert worked for the Central Iowa Telephone Company and GTE from 1948 until he retired in 1987.

A member of the Forest City United Methodist Church, the Forest City Fire Department, the Jaycees, and the Lions Club, Robert enjoyed many years of fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking, and camping with his family. In his later years, Robert took care of his wife, Frances, daily. Nonetheless, they moved to Rockwell City to live with their daughter, Pam. Without a doubt, he will be, dearly, missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Pam (Noel) Heimdal; his sons, John (Holly) and Robin Adams; six grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Gretchen, Mark and Amanda; fifteen great-grandchildren: Megan, Sara, Katlyn, Jake, Jasper, Kassara, Dylan, Emma, Mark IV, Lily, Aiden, Haley, Robert Dean, Jaci, and Zack; two great great-grandchildren, Hadelyn and Holdyn; his brothers, Eldon “Jake” (Jeanette) and Everett Adams, as well as by many other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; their daughter, Peggy Sue and her husband, Mark Mary III; his parents, Sidney and Alice (Larson) Adams; three sisters, Charlaine, Marlys, and Helen; and one brother, Eugene.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City, Iowa 50436. Visitation is scheduled from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial of cremains will follow in Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Robert Adams memorial fund in care of the family.
