Kathy Ellen (Elwood) Larson, 66, of Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away on June 1, 2019, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, from pneumonia and end stage kidney disease.

Kathy was born on September 6, 1952, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, to the late Verle and Carolyn (Schaumberg) Elwood. In 1971, she graduated from Buffalo Center High School and married Randy Boeckholt in September of the same year. Subsequently, they had two sons, Troy Lee and Anthony Scott. Over the years, Kathy worked at several nursing homes and other miscellaneous jobs.

She loved fishing and anything artistic. She was able to crochet and knit without needing a pattern. In the last few years, she enjoyed adult coloring books. She, always, wanted to keep up with fashion trends. Indeed, the staff at the nursing homes where she lived wanted to go shopping in her closet.

She is survived by her sons, Troy (Lisa) Boeckholt, of Kensett, Iowa, and Tony Boeckholt, of Forest City, Iowa; her sisters, Marcia Aukes, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, and Ilonna Hutchins, of Garner, Iowa; her grandchildren: Kyra and Savannah Boeckholt and Tyler and Seth Strand; her nephew, Lucas; her nieces: Teri (James) Bohl, Kelli (Vincent) Trent, Cari (Andrew) Aukes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Randy Elwood; her sister, Vicki Peterson; her nephew, Cody Aukes; her grandparents: Frank and Mary (Schaefer) Elwood and August and Fannie (Boeckholt) Schaumberg.
