Old Settlers’ Picnic.
October 5, 1895To the old settlers of Cerro Gordo, Worth, Winnebago and Hancock Counties:
We desire, by these means, to extend a cordial invitation to all persons who settled in said Counties prior to the year 1871, to come with their families to the OLD Settlers’ Picnic to be held in Mason city, Iowa, October 5th, 1895.
We desire that each family bring something in the way of eatables and be prepared to have a good time.
We expect to have a number of addresses from various parties and a good time is promised. Let us get together and renew old acquaintances as the pioneers are dropping off rapidly.
We cannot write each one separately and send this circular to the papers of the various counties for publication and every old settler must take it as a special invitation to himself.
Yours truly,
B. I. Smith
Henry Keehl
J. H. McConlaxue (illegible)
