Woman Clubbed to Death

In a fit of jealously Reed Smith, a mulatto clubbed his wife to death at Lehigh. When the sheriff attempted to arrest him he shot off the official’s ear and fatally wounded a woman who chanced to be in the house. Smith escaped.
