We cannot find that he was ever married. Or who he lived with. The only census he appears in was taken when he was 11 years. In that census he is reported to be 11 years old which would have been in 1856 (??). One place lists his birth in 1845 with a twin brother, John Wesley Patterson, but in another place it lists his birth in 1844. He served in the Union Army 16th Iowa Infantry, Co F. His brother lived in the Old Solders home in Ft Leavenworth, Kansas, died and is buried there.
