Patsy Wilson, 91, dies here Wednesday
Miss Maude Helen (Patsy) Wilson, 91, longtime Washington teacher and one of the mainstays in the organization and maintenance of Historic Conger House here, died Wednesday afternoon, October 28, 1981 in the long-term care unit of Washington County Hospital. Her home was at 214 East Second Street in Washington.
The funeral will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. George Bishop in charge. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation has started at the funeral home and a memorial fund has been established for Conger House building fund.
Miss Wilson died after a long illness. She was born here March 20, 1890, a daughter of C. J. and Clara Conger Wilson. She was raised in this community and graduated from Iowa State University at Ames.
She had served as a member of the Washington Public Library Board for many years, and was a member of PEO, DAR, the 19th Century Social Club and Literary Club.
Surviving are these nieces and nephews: Robert Lytle of Washington, Carlton Lytle of Phoenix, Ariz., John Lytle of Oskaloosa, William Smith of Cedar Rapids, Clara George of Richland, and Martha White of Marion.
