Noted Suffrage Worker Dead
Mrs. Florence Twining, Pioneer of Movement, Dies at Berkeley Home. Mrs. Florence Twining, pioneer of the suffrage movement in the United States and cousin of Dr. Susan B. Anthony, died early yesterday morning at her home, 2000 Channing way, Berkely. She was 67 years old, and had lived in Berekley the past six years.
Mrs. Twining was of Revolutionary stock, members of the families of both her parents having fought for independence. She took an active part in suffrage work as an aide to her cousin, who piloted a suffrage bill through Congress known under her name.
Mrs. Twining was a native of Iowa. She leaves a daughter, Luella Twining, a prominent Socialist worker of California; a son, Howard Twining, both of Berkely.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Berkely undertaking parlors. The Rev. Robert Whitaker will officiate.
