Kenneth Miller, age 83, passed away October 15, 2011 surrounded by family at Taylor House Hospice.
He was born and raised in the Woodland Hills community east of Des Moines, had lived in Carlisle for over 40 years and has lived in Indianola for the past year. Kens last employment was City Clerk for the City of Carlisle (15 years). Kenneth and Leila celebrated 61 years of marriage this year.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2011 at Woodland Hills Church of Christ.
Family and friends visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle.
Interment will be in Powers-Warren Cemetery.
Preceding in death were his parents, George and Grace Miller and great-granddaughter, Miriam Faith Joyce
Surviving are his wife, Leila of Indianola; six sons, Gary (Julie) Miller of Branson, MO, Rusty (Donna) Miller of Johnston, IA, Rick (Kay) Miller of Ackworth, IA, Robert (Tamara) Miller of Indianola, IA, Jim (Jennifer) Miller of Carlisle, IA, and Donny (Kari) Miller of Carlisle; 16 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Blake (Joann) Miller of Ripon, CA, and Ray (Harriet) Miller of Mitchellville. Memorials will go to Taylor House Hospice and or Woodland Hills Church of Christ.
