WHITMAN, CHRISTOPHER C., farmer, West Washington Township, Sec. 32; P. O. Indianola; was born in Illinois in 1832, and made it his home till he came to this county, in the spring of 1868. He was married in Illinois in 1867, January 24th, to Miss Matie McGrowen, of Ohio; they have two sons: Wm. B., and Otis C. He owns an improved farm of 120 acres; he was raised on a farm and has followed it as an occupation through life.
