Sorry it took so long to respond. Is your Joel Eastman from in and around the Wapello area?

My Joel Died in Wapello County in and around 1848-1849. I cannot find burial or exact death information any where in the county. I found a land sales transaction between Joel and a neighbor early in 1848 and he was not listed on the 1850 census with Amazilla and the kids. Thus he died in 1848-49. Amazilla left guardianship papers to her brother Gamelial leaving him custudy right to the younger children.

I'd like to know more about your Joel Desmond especially if he is from around there as he may indeed be related a few generations off.
