I don't find much in local records about your Jones family. I do find the following, which may be of some use.

There are several John Jones marriages in Wapello County, but it is difficult to tell if any of them are yours without more information to narrow down the search.

J.M. Jones married Lucinda Brugoyne on 24 Dec 1869.
John Jones married Elizabeth Alexander on 21 Jan 1861.
John Jones married Lucy Alexander on 11 Sep 1886.
John Jones married Nancy J. Taylor on 30 Mar 1873.
John M. Jones married Mary Whipple on 18 Aug 1862.

Louisa Jones married William Abrams on 22 Sep 1860 in Mahaska County, Iowa.

Sylvester C. Jones married Mary J. Hobson on 12 Dec 1860 in Henry County, Iowa.

I have checked the 1860, 1870, and 1880 Federal census records without much luck. The only one I can find much on is Sylvester.

On adjacent farms:

Jones, Isaac, aged 77 born Pennsylvania
Jones, Abigail, aged 50, born Ohio

Jones, Joel, aged 33, born Ohio
Jones, Caroline, aged 30, born Ohio
Jones, Alvin, aged 3, born Iowa
Jones, Arthur, aged 5/12 born Iowa
Jones, Sylvester, aged 19, born Ohio

From the 1870 Federal Census for Salem Township, Henry County, Iowa.

Jones, Sylvester, aged 29, born Ohio
Jones, Mary J., aged 29, born Iowa
Jones, Lucy, aged 6, born Iowa
Jones, Vally, aged 3, born Iowa
Jones Adell, aged 1, born Iowa
