I was just at Myrick last month - it is indeed now a bit hard to find. Went with a local cousin and when we hit the closed-road detour, STILL had to ask locals for directions. It is quite remote and although not what I would call "well" kept up, someone must look after it or it would look a lot worse.
Wish I'd known to look for your people too, although it was SOOOOOO mosquito filled, don't know if I could have made myself stay any longer than we did without beekeeper gear! :P We were literally breathing mosquitos, especially at the lower back end (it kinda slopes off into a really damp area). Of course, it was evening, which didn't help. And yes, they have had cases of West Nile in that part of Iowa.
I found my gg grandfather Nimrod Poston's stone (and others that I recognized) and MY question is: That newer pink granite stone for Nimrod is NOT the same one for him that cousins from Michigan photgraphed back in the 1980's, althought the metal GAR markers are still there with the new stone. How could I go about finding out who had the old one replaced? I sure would love to know, as they are certainly cousins of mine and interested in good old Nimrod. At the moment, his interesting life and etc. is the focus of my research efforts.
