I will write one final time to tell you this
marriage DID TAKE PLEASE IN JEFFERSON COUNTY,
no doubt about it.

In looking in the history of the Catholic Church
in Fairfield -quote: "Prior to building a
catholic chuch in Fairfield, Father John Krekel came from Ottumwa durinhg the ye3ar to minister to the needs of the Catholics of the community;. He traveled by horseback kmany times as the railroads did not enter Fairfield until l858."

In the middle of the next paragraph of the history is this sentence - quote:" Old Records show the erection of the church was started in the early summer of l864."

I hope the person originally making the query
reads these items. Verda Baird, Jefferson Co
researcher from l976 to 2010 then retired.
