Morrell came to Ottumwa in 1877. About the time your ggrandfather would have worked there the company employed about 2300 people. I think it left in the 1960s. The plant was bought by Hormel, who also left and the land is currently occupied by Excel, another packer that built a more modern plant on the site. Most of the original Morrell buildings are gone.
There are a couple of things you might look for. There is a book on the Morrell family and the Morrell company written in the 1940s with many pictures of the Ottumwa plant. The book shows up periodically on eBay. You might also try a search of Amazon.com in their out-of-print section.
Again, on eBay, there periodically are sold postcards showing the Ottumwa plant as it appeared in abt 1910. They usually sell for $2-5 each.
